Entrapment, now that is a scary situation. Worse yet, rescuers often have to venture to the same area that trapped the victim. Rescue vests often provide extra stability and safety for the rescuer in these types of rescues. Plan appropriately and be very careful. A foot entrapment will often injure the victim as well further complicating rescue efforts. This is a situation well worth avoiding via knowledge of the river, good scouting, boating in control, and proper swimming technique when you come out of your boat.
